Westpac New Zealand have a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and believe in paying their people fairly because it’s the right thing to do.
Westpac New Zealand is one of the major banks in New Zealand, touching the lives of more than 1.5 million customers, 5,000 employees, and communities nationwide.
Westpac began their journey to understand and improve their gender pay gap in 2019, and have worked over the past five years to reduce it by 5%.
"We firmly believe that ‘what gets measured gets done’, particularly when the conversation is open and transparent, and that consistency – of measurement, energy and focus – is key to sustainable improvement. Releasing our findings publicly in 2019 enabled us to be honest and open about our position, to confront our gender pay issue, and to make commitments to close it."
