How the Nominations Service works
Once registered, your profile goes into a database that the Ministry uses to identify candidates who have the required skills and experience for available board roles.
When a public sector board vacancy opens, depending on the appointment process, we either forward candidate details to the agency requesting nominations or contact you directly to encourage you to apply directly for the role.
Occasionally we are asked for nominations in confidence, and if this is the case, you may be contacted directly by an appointing agency to gauge your interest in the role or to notify you that your name has been forward as a direct nomination.
As a member of the Nominations Service database, you’ll also receive our regular newsletter that shares details about current board vacancies and upcoming training opportunities.
There is no guarantee that by joining the Nominations Service database that you will be appointed to a role, as public sector board roles are in high demand and it can be a competitive and lengthy process.
