All organisations can benefit from creating a more inclusive, empathetic, and thriving workplace that supports everyone to perform at their best.

Employers, leaders, managers, and colleagues all play a part in supporting women going through menopause, if they need it. Learning the basics about menopause and providing support, even just a few simple actions, can have a big impact.

A 2023 report, The Silent Transition, found that while employers are generally open to discussions about menopause, 40% of employers felt they needed to learn more.

There are many benefits to talking openly about menopause, and supporting employees through it, while accepting that not everyone will feel comfortable or need to talk about it.

  • Employees will feel that their health and wellbeing is considered and prioritised.
  • Employees are supported to perform at their best, which can improve productivity.
  • There could be a reduction in the number of leave days an employee takes to manage their symptoms.
  • Organisations can retain valuable talent and are seen as a desirable place to work.
  • The organisation has a diverse, supportive, and inclusive culture.
  • Leadership and development opportunities are available to women employees, which can help address other issues in the workplace, like the gender pay gap
