The Ministry for Women commissioned Strategic Pay Limited to survey organisations across New Zealand about their perceptions and practices relating to gender pay gaps.

The research explores understanding of key terms, how employee data is collected and analysed, and awareness and use of the Ministry’s Gender Pay Gap Toolkit. It also examines barriers to action and differences by sector, industry, and organisation size. 

Conducted in March–April 2025, this inaugural survey provides a baseline for understanding current approaches and attitudes.
